Authorities are investigating the death of eight young people missing

The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) announced this Wednesday that it is investigating the death of eight individuals, from the municipality of Cacuaco, province of Luanda, previously reported missing by relatives.

:

In a note, SIC reported that it learned, on 15 February, from relatives of the disappearance of eight young people, who were living in a guesthouse, in the company of other young people, in Cacuaco.

According to the SIC, given the seriousness of the situation, it triggered "a set of investigative actions, embodied in the opening of a competent process, as well as the prompt judicial inspection of the place indicated by the family members as being the place where the young people celebrated St. Valentim, at the time they were removed from there".

Preliminary information from witnesses who were at the scene, SIC reported in its note, states that the victims were taken by four unidentified individuals, who were already at the scene before the presence of the eight young people, "armed with pistols and under threat death, then destroying the inn's video surveillance system.

Following the events, two days after the disappearance, the bodies of the young people, who had previously been reported missing, were located in the morgue at Hospital Josina Machel and recognized by their relatives.

"Considering that the facts reported here reveal high complexity and concern for public security, the SIC in coordination with the PNA [National Police of Angola], continue to carry out diligences, aimed at identifying and locating the perpetrators of this crime for consequent criminal liability", stressed the note.
