Application deadline for the tender for the concession of the Luvo and Soyo logistics platforms has been extended

The deadline for submitting applications for public tenders for the concession of the Luvo and Soyo logistics platforms has been extended until March 3. Maria de Lurdes, executive administrator of the Regulatory Agency for Cargo and Logistics Certification in Angola, said that there was a large interest in tenders, especially from foreign companies.

The official explained that it was decided to extend the deadline for applications at the request of the competitors: "Because of the health restrictions, our consulates could not at all respond with the celerity that was required and so the competitors asked for this extension of the deadline, in the sense of express their interest in the concession of these logistics platforms in Luvo and Soyo".

In addition, the administrator, in statements to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), also made it known that by next month, tenders for the concession of four other logistics platforms will be launched.

"The tender for the concession of these platforms is part of a first phase that involves six logistics platforms: these two, plus the Luau in Moxico, which will also be launched in a few days, we have the Arimba in Huíla, Caála in Huambo, Lombe in Malanje".

The official said that the possibility of using "intermodal transport makes transport more efficient, cheaper, which reduces logistical costs", adding that this use allows "a much faster flow of production".

"By reducing costs we have cheaper products, the business environment will be improved. When improved we will have productivity gains", she added, quoted by RNA.
