Parliament passes draft anti-doping law in sport

The Parliament approved this Monday, in Luanda, the proposed anti-doping law in sport, which will go to the final global vote at the next plenary meeting, on 24 February.

:

The Ministry of Youth and Sports said that, after its implementation, failure to comply with the law will make it impossible for sports federations to benefit from any type of public support, also losing the status of public sports utility, technical support, materials, human and financial.

The diploma adopts the rules and principles of the World Anti-Doping Code, applicable in domestic law.

The proposed Law on Anti-Doping in Sports is a legislative initiative of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as the holder of the Executive Power, whose main issue is the years of suspension, stipulated for up to eight years, if the sportsman is caught with a prohibited substance in the body.
