Egypt and Senegal face each other in the final of the African Cup of Nations

The finalists of the 33rd edition of the CAN (African Nations Championship) are already known. The main competition of football on the continent ends this Sunday with a clash between the teams of Egypt and Senegal. The final is scheduled for 20:00 at Estádio d'Olembé, in Yaoundé (Cameroon).

The semi-finals ended this Thursday with a victory for Egypt over the hosts Cameroon, in a game decided only on penalties (3-1), after a goalless draw at the end of regulation and extra time. The day before, Senegal had knocked Burkina Faso out of the competition, in a 3-1 victory that secured them another place in the final.

For Egypt, this will be the tenth presence in the final of a CAN, having already won the competition on seven occasions. As for Senegal, they are aiming for the first conquest of this trophy, despite having already been present in the final twice.

The final CAN match will also be marked by the presence of two world football stars, both Liverpool players in England. Mohamed Salah represents Egypt and Sadio Mané represents Senegal.
