Cleaning fees will start being charged in the coming months through the energy bill

Cleaning fees should start being charged on the energy bill. With the publication of Law No. 107/16, which provides for and guides the payment of these fees, everything points to the collection starting in the coming months.

:

According to Expansão, the value of cleaning fees, which will be levied on energy bills, will be different for companies and families: citizens must pay between 1,500 and 2,500 kwanzas, while the value for companies will be between 12,500 and 164,000 kwanzas.

According to the law, cited by the same newspaper, citizens who do not have an energy contract will not be excluded from the measure, since the amount may be charged directly by operators or billing companies.

As an example, the Cazenga Waste Management Plan provides for the Public Cleaning Fee, which "sets by steps, payable by all users of the Public Waste Management System in the Province of Luanda and charged through the energy bill".

According to Expansão, the collection of that fee "allows you to cover urban cleaning charges, which include manual sweeping of streets and sidewalks, mechanical sweeping of streets, sweeping fairs and event venues, and solid waste collection" .

As for the commercial sector, that city suggests the Commercial Collection Fee, intended for "legal persons, whose value varies according to the classification of the establishment".

Cacuaco, on the other hand, proposes the elaboration of the Urban Collection Fee, variable applicable to domestic and non-domestic persons, proposing the collection of 150 to 350 kwanzas per week.

These suggestions should be consolidated through the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL).

It is recalled that, last week, the LPG revealed that from April onwards, municipal administrations will be responsible for sanitation services.
