Municipalities of Luanda will start to assume costs with cleaning, collection and treatment of garbage

As of April, the municipalities of Luanda will assume payments related to the cleaning, collection and treatment of solid waste. With this new measure, municipal administrations will become responsible for sanitation services.

:

"From next April, municipal administrations will assume sanitation services, including the contracting and payment of operators, and the funds are already included in their budgets", can be read in a statement made available on Facebook from the Provincial Government. of Luanda (LPG).

In the note, the GPL explains that from April onwards "the municipalities will assume the payments related to the costs of cleaning, collecting and treating solid waste".

Thus, in order for the measure to be successful, the GPL explains that the municipal administrations "were trained to assume payments with the amount entered in the installments of the budget for cleaning and sanitation services".

Regarding the models to be adopted, the GPL states that they will not differ much between municipalities, admitting that there may be changes according to the "structuring specifications of each municipality", but at a global level all will follow the same management model.

The statement also informs that the LPG "created a technical group, coordinated by the deputy governor for the Economic Sector, Lino Quienda Sebastião, who worked on the preparation of the pieces for the launch of the public tender for the Concession of the Urban Public Cleaning Service to the operators of Collection and Treatment of Solid Waste at the level of the nine Luanda municipalities".
