The country will have its first military university this year

The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado, announced that the country will have, later this year, its first military university. Destined to the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), the institution will cover different branches of defense and security.

Speaking at the opening of the FAA Directors' Meeting, which will take place until Wednesday in Lubango, the official made it known that the institution will train troops with "strong temperament" from the perspective of patriotic, civic and legal conscience, with the aim of able to face, in a prudent and determined way, anomalous scenarios.

Cited by Angop, Francisco Pereira Furtado explained that the emergence of covid-19 made it necessary to rethink the formation of national troops and that the answer lies in building a university for this purpose.

The minister also considered that the continuous focus on training troops in general is essential, through exercises and practical classes, defending the need to compose vigorous and flexible armed forces, writes Angop.
