According to a statement, the alleged perpetrator of the crime of homicide was in uniform on the public road, in the company of a colleague, on a private mission, when two young men who were riding a motorbike were questioned.
"For no apparent reason, they produced AKM-type firearms," killing a 25-year-old boy, Garcia João Zeca, and seriously injuring another 27-year-old, Lino António Fernandes.
"After denunciation, the Criminal Investigation Service detained the alleged offenders and were referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further procedural steps, with a view to their criminal liability," adds the statement.
The provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior also condemned the "barbaric act" and appeals "to similar bodies so that those involved are severely punished under the terms of the legal provisions", addressing condolences to the family.
Speaking to Lusa, João Zito Zecamutchima, the young man's father, said that he received the information late Monday afternoon.
"The son left home to buy onion for dinner. They shot himself in the same house, ran away and shot the other boy," he said, adding nothing to know about the circumstances and the reasons that led to the murder.
He added that the police assured him that those responsible would be penalized.
The body has not yet been handed over to the family.
