Covid-19: 26 new cases and 56 patients recovered in the country

The Secretary of State for Public Health informed this Monday that the country has registered, in the last 24 hours, another 26 new cases of covid-19 and 56 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 17 were notified in Luanda, five in Huambo, two in Cabinda, one in Huíla and one in Lunda Norte, aged between 18 and 71, said Franco Mufinda.

No deaths were recorded and 56 people were reported as recovered.

The country has a total of 20,112 cases, of which 470 deaths, 18,596 recovered and 1041 active, with 9 in critical condition and 12 in severe, 81 moderate, 68 light and 871 asymptomatic.

A total of 1438 samples were tested in a cumulative of 369,532 samples.

In the post-disembarkation test to passengers coming from abroad, between January 16 and Monday 10,421 passengers were tested, of which 31 tested positive: 16 Angolans, three Brazilians, one British, one Congolese, one French, one Israeli, one Mozambican, two Nigerians, one South African, one Ivorian coast, one Mauritanian, one San Tomean and one Indian.

They came from South Africa, Germany, Brazil, Congo-Brazzaville, Dubai, France, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome, Mauritania, United States and Turkey.

The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 2,316,812 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 106 million cases of infection, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
