Covid-19: country confirms 24 new infections and no deaths in the last 24 hours

The health authorities registered 24 positive cases of covid-19 and no deaths, in the last 24 hours, and gave as recovered 45 patients, reaching a total of 20,086 infections, 475 deaths and 18,540 recoveries.

According to information on the situation of covid-19 in the country, signed by the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, of the total number of cases registered in the last 24 hours, 15 were notified in Luanda, two in Bié, the same number in Huambo, Moxico and Zaire and one in Huíla, aged between two and 82 years, 18 male and six female.

The people recovered, the information indicates, are 39 from Lunda Sul, five from Moxico and one from Bié, with ages ranging from one month to 72 years.

With these data, the country has 1071 active cases, of which seven critics, 11 severe, 81 moderate, 76 mild and 896 asymptomatic, with a total of 175 patients and 146 people in institutional quarantine.

Regarding the laboratories, 537 samples per RT-PCR were processed in the period in reference, pointing the cumulative to 368,442 samples processed, with a positivity rate of 5.4 percent.

The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 2,310,234 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 105.7 million cases of infection, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
