Covid-19: country accounts for another 37 infections and two deaths in 24 hours

The country has counted 37 infections by SARS-CoV-2 and two deaths in the last 24 hours, announced this Wednesday the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

In a statement, the Secretary of State for Public Health explained that 11 infections were registered in Luanda, eight in Huambo, six in Cabinda, five in Kwanza Sul, three in Benguela, two in Lunda Sul, one in Bié and another in Moxico.

Of this total, 25 are men and 12 women, with "ages ranging from two to 74.

"The [two] deaths were reported in the provinces of Luanda and Huambo," the report says, adding that they are "an Angolan citizen and an Indian citizen, aged 56 and 57, respectively.

A further 103 people have recovered from covid-19, the ruler added, increasing the number of recovered to 18,335.

Angola has registered 19,937 infections and 470 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. There are still three infected "in critical condition, eight severe, 92 moderate, 96 mild and 933 asymptomatic.
