According to the SIC spokesman in Benguela, Vitorino Cotingo, the 38-year-old suspect was arrested on Sunday, the day of the assault, in the Uchi neighborhood. The man allegedly beat his girlfriend with blows of a stick and iron, and she died immediately.
The criminal investigation officer says that the victim asked her boyfriend for money after a romantic relationship at his employer's residence, where he worked as a private security guard.
As the boyfriend told her he had no money, she wanted to be compensated with a chicken, which the man objected on the grounds that the chicken belonged to the boss, leading to a disagreement between the couple, and the accused fatally shot the victim.
"To get rid of the corpse, the man decided to hide it in his boss's backyard," Vitorino Cotingo told Opaís newspaper.
On Monday, the SIC carried out a reconstruction of the crime and has not yet been able to identify the victim because he does not have any documents.
