Angolan film "The Debt", starring Gilmário Vemba, arrives at the movie theaters

The Angolan film "The Debt", starring comedian Gilmário Vemba, arrives this Friday, February 26, at Cinemax theaters.

The preview of the film took place last Wednesday, February 24th. The screening was attended by the film's cast and well-known names such as Prodígio, presenter Sofia Lucas, and the film's executive director Will Gondo.

Now it's the audience's turn to prepare the popcorn: the film opens this Friday on Cinemax. The premiere of the film "for Huambo, Lubango and Benguela is scheduled for March 5, 2021," says a statement sent to VerAngola.

"The Debt" was written and directed by Anacleto de Abreu and has a cast with names that are well known in the public square. The protagonist is Gilmário Vemba, who acts with Sany Carlos, Neide Van Dunem and Isaac Finório.

The film is a comedy with action that portrays the "current scenario of indebtedness of citizens in the middle class, who resort to various resources to finance their needs. In the feature film, Gilmário Vemba, gives life to a driver who has a very high debt because he had to send his daughter abroad for surgery.

In the middle of a shootout, Gilmário's mistress is shot by mercenaries and he is left with her bag with money and documents. Gilmário enters a dilemma: does he return the money or use it to pay off his debt?

"With the help of two SIC agents he will have to create a plan to kill two birds with one stone. In the film, Gilmário faces the problems and makes the comedy happen, the agents bring the action in response to growing crime in Luanda," adds the note.
