"We inform that from now on, based on the new screening protocol, the covid-19 test will be covered in the following situations: hospitalization; outpatient surgeries, invasive exams and emergency episodes", can be read in the statement published on the insurance company's website.
The insurance will not cover the performance of tests for travel or in cases of general consultation.
The note also states that the providers and services associated with this protocol are Luanda Medical Center (in case of outpatient surgeries), Clínica Girassol (in cases of urgency, hospitalization and invasive exams), Clínica Sagrada Esperança (in case of hospitalization episodes and invasive exams) and Clínica Espírito Santo (in cases of hospitalization, invasive exams, surgeries, births and cesarean sections).
In the communiqué the insurance company also reveals that those interested in advancing with this protocol will have to make a co-payment of the policy, "there is a limit of 3 tests per annuity for emergency episodes at Clínica Girassol".
According to the Expansão, the co-payment can range from five to 25 thousand kwanzas. "There are clinics that for any kind of consultation require the Covid-19 test, so we created this protocol to meet the need of people to do a certain number of tests if they are qualified," explained the same source.
