On his trip to Angola, the president of the Volkswagen group will visit the place where the factory will be located. He also has scheduled meetings with the Ministry of Transport, AIPEX and ZEE.

According to Angop, negotiations between the group and Angola began in 2018, when a delegation from ZEE Luanda-Bengo, led by António Henriques da Silva, went, at the invitation of Volkswagen, to its factory in South Africa.

"The investment that Volkswagen proposes to make in Angola will contribute greatly to the diversification of our economy, job creation and leverage, especially the automobile sector, making its offer more varied," said António Henriques da Silva, manager of AIPEX.

He also stressed that the automobile industry extends to other industrial "branches", thus contributing to the "creation of new business opportunities for national entrepreneurs, with a positive impact on our economy".

Thomas Schaefer will also visit some factories of ZEE Luanda-Bengo and will be present at the Business Forum Germany-Angola - which is part of Angela Merkel's visit to Angola.
