"For our country, these challenges have to do with the security of citizens, the development of our communities, justice and the health of our populations," said this Thursday Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, in Luanda.

According to the politician, who was speaking at the launching ceremony of the National Movement for the Prevention and Fight against Drug Use, "it is necessary" to promote efforts to ensure the health of citizens, through drug control.

In his speech, at the headquarters of parliament in Luanda, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos challenged research and scientific production centres to deepen studies of the causes of drug use and point out ways to combat it.

For the president of the National Assembly, the constant reports that families are being increasingly affected by drug consumption and trafficking "are worrying and constitute a global challenge.

"Particularly for our country, which is still facing the challenges of strengthening the technical and functional capacities of its institutions", he pointed out, noting that the fight is for all citizens and also requires, above all, the commitment and commitment of families.
