The head of state, in the message to which Lusa had access, expressed his support and "willingness to contribute" to the success of the campaign carried out by the Chinese authorities against the coronavirus.
João Lourenço stated that he has followed "with great attention" the efforts that the Chinese authorities have been "undertaking in order to contain and stop the expansion" of the epidemic.
On Friday, China claimed 636 dead and more than 31,000 infected from the outbreak of coronavirus pneumonia detected last December in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province (center), which has been placed under quarantine.
