"The Arena is leading the process, together with a group of private investors, and this exhibition park should be a reality in 2021," Manuel Novais told Lusa, on the fringes of the 2nd edition of Expofeiras 2020 - National Exhibition on Fairs in Angola.
"We all know that Luanda had an urgent need in this regard," he added, noting that the park will occupy an area of approximately 40,000 square meters and may receive up to a thousand visitors, with adequate parking and logistical conditions.
For now, "the needs have been met" with an adapted pavilion in the EEZ to hold fairs.
"It is not ideal, but being the ideal we do not stop doing them", acknowledged Manuel Novais, underlining "the great effort" that has been made to respond to the interest that exhibitors have shown in being present, even knowing "that there is no other option" for now.
About the news for this year, the responsible highlighted the launch of ExpoNamibe, an event aimed at the business and industrial fabric of that province, as well as the involvement of three ministries in the Food (Industry, Trade and Agriculture) so that, "at the same fair" it is possible to find "from production to final consumer".
The Arena will organize this year nine fairs, with emphasis on the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), the "largest business exchange in Angola" that has been held since 1983.
The company's manager also said that the holding and participation in the fairs has not been affected by the economic crisis.
"I think that it is in times of crisis that one has to invest, crises force to create windows of opportunity and companies have to promote and publicize themselves," he said, pointing out the industry as the most attractive sector for national fairs.
