The Government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, states that the aforementioned hotel groups "have Angola in their investment sights".
In this sense, within the scope of the Americas Investment Forum, held in Madrid (Spain), Márcio Daniel, Minister of Tourism, "presented to interested businesspeople the panorama of the investment environment in Angola".
On the occasion, the governor highlighted that, since tourism is a priority sector, "there are differentiated advantages for those who decide to invest, such as tax benefits and a simplified registration process for companies".
"As Angola is an emerging tourist destination, the presence of these major players in the hotel market will allow us to expand not only the number of accommodations available, but also the quality of service and raise the country's reputation beyond its borders," reads the statement.
It is worth noting that Iberostar, a Spanish hotel chain created in 1956, has more than 120 hotels around the world, and is "known for its approach focused on all-inclusive experiences and resorts located in coastal destinations, with investments in African tourist destinations, with highlights include Tanzania (including the island of Zanzibar), Morocco, Cape Verde and Madagascar".
The Barcelo Hotels Group has over 90 years of experience, with a "business model focused on sun and beach tourism, with resorts located in privileged locations". According to the statement, its hotels "stand out for their commitment to sustainability and adaptation to the preferences of different tourists."
