The minister also reported that "the first tests for the supply of drinking water and electricity in the Saurimo town centre were successfully completed".
He explained that the water and electricity supply systems "were subjected to rigorous testing", having demonstrated "satisfactory performance".

This progress allows us to ensure that the center is ready to receive the first residents in the coming days," said the holder of the Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing portfolio.
The housing infrastructure with capacity for 212 apartments "in the first phase", has "modern infrastructure, including schools, health units and leisure spaces, designed to promote the well-being of families".
The minister also highlighted that, "with the success of the tests, the technical teams are now focusing their efforts on improving the conditions, with the delivery process of the residences scheduled for the coming months, and local authorities are already preparing to lay the stone for construction of the second phase of the centrality with capacity for 1400 residences of different types".
In addition to the centrality, which saw its construction begin in 2017, the works on the new Saurimo ring road are also completed.

Construction work on the ring road began in 2020 and cost more than 42 billion kwanzas. According to Angop, the project has the characteristics of a highway, with two lanes measuring 12 meters wide each, among other aspects, and the works were carried out by Omatapalo.
