João Lourenço's visit to France begins on Thursday, with his reception at the Élysée Palace.
"The program to be carried out in the French capital foresees that tomorrow (Thursday), at around 10 am, President João Lourenço will arrive at the Élysée Palace for the official welcome and due honors. In addition to the performance of the national anthems of both countries, military honors and a review of the troops on parade will take place, and then talks between the two presidential delegations will begin", informs the Presidency of the Republic, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
João Lourenço's agenda also includes a visit to the National Assembly on Thursday, where he will meet with the President of the French House of Law. "On the same day, the President of the Republic of Angola will go to the National Assembly for a meeting with the President of the French House of Law, Yael Braun-Pivet – this in the afternoon", says the note.
In the evening, the note says, the president will return "to the Presidential Palace for the official dinner, at which time there will be speeches from both sides", where the French president, Emmanuel Macron, will speak, and then the president of the Republic, João Lourenço.
Friday, the second and last day of the visit, will be "essentially filled with matters of an economic nature, with the program including a France-Angola economic forum to explore business possibilities, partnerships and other engagements, and visits to economic objectives such as a waste-to-energy plant and the City of Science and Industry".
The President of the Republic is scheduled to return to the country on Saturday.
