The 19 new cases in 24 hours were reported in the neighborhoods of Belo Monte, with six, Pedreira, with four, Kikolo and Sequele with two cases each and in the neighborhoods of Paraíso, epicenter of the disease, Vidrul, Rio Seco, Balumuka and Barra do Dande with one case each.
At least nine samples from suspected cases are being processed, according to the ministry.
According to the Cholera Information Bulletin, released this Tuesday, the country currently has 283 cases of the disease, 129 of which are men and the rest are women, aged between 2 and 73 years old.
Authorities ask the population to scrupulously comply with preventive measures, such as regular hand washing, boiling water for 20 minutes or adding five drops of bleach to each liter of water, washing fruits and vegetables thoroughly with boiled or treated water. , among others.
The Health Minister announced on Monday the installation of rehydration stations and cholera treatment centers in the neighborhoods most affected by the disease, urging families to seek treatment from the first symptoms.
Sílvia Lutucuta, who visited the municipality of Cacuaco, in Luanda, the epicenter of a cholera outbreak, urged families to adopt preventive care and treat the disease early to avoid deaths.
