Speaking at the institution's 10th anniversary, celebrated this Monday, Gaspar Agostinho Neto said that this year the institute plans to train almost 200 new students in 23 courses, which will constitute the fourth generation of professionals in the field of arts, divided into five areas of training: theater, visual arts, music, cinema and dance.
In a review, the director considered that the institution has taken important steps in the progress of culture and art, with the quality and demand of its students, even in the face of the financial challenges that the institute faces.
Despite facing difficulties, the institution was able to hire 109 new teachers, reinforcing not only the teaching staff, but also contributing to the increase and improvement of the quality of teaching and the offer of subjects for students, said the person in charge, quoted by Angop.
Among the difficulties faced by the institute, the director mentioned the transportation and location of the school (it is in Camama), which has not facilitated access for students, especially those who come from other provinces and municipalities, since the complex only has two buses and support from the Ministry of Culture.
He also spoke about the impact that the lack of boarding facilities has on students: "The lack of boarding facilities forces many students to stay with relatives".
But the difficulties do not stop there, according to the director, the school faces a lack of laboratory, bibliographic and computer equipment, and these resources are obtained abroad, generating a high cost.
As for daily challenges that need to be overcome to ensure the proper functioning of the institute, the director highlighted school dropouts, vandalism of public property and lack of electricity at certain times, writes Angop.
Regarding training, he indicated that those who graduate in visual arts have opportunities in sectors such as national and provincial directorates, among others, while graduates in cinema can enter studios and those in music can enter orchestras, schools, etc.
With more than 60 classrooms, an auditorium, an amphitheatre and more than 1000 students, CEARTE was created in 2015.
