It was through an order, dated January 18th, that João Lourenço determined the creation of the Interministerial Commission for the Organization of Commemorative Actions Allusive to the 50th Anniversary of National Independence, which will be celebrated on November 11th, 2025.

According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the coordination of the commission will be in charge of Adão de Almeida, Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic. Francisco Furtado, Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, will assume the role of deputy coordinator.

The Ministers of State for Economic Coordination and the Social Area, José de Lima Massano and Dalva Ringote, respectively, will also join the commission.

It should be noted that the role of the commission will be to organize and prepare the celebrations of the country's 50th anniversary of Independence.

Thus, the heads of the Ministries of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country; Interior; Foreign Relations; Finance; Territorial Administration; Transport; Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies will also be part of the commission Social; Education; Culture and Tourism, as well as Youth and Sports", reads the note, which adds that the head of the State Information and Security Service and the director of the President's Ceremonial are also part of the commission.

According to the presidential order, the aforementioned commission will also count on the support of a technical group, "under the coordination of the Secretary of State for Territorial Administration, to carry out the related tasks, being made up of secretaries of State and similar entities appointed by the ministerial departments now designated as members of the interministerial commission".

"On the other hand, the presidential order determines the creation of multisectoral commissions to organize local activities, coordinated by provincial governors and municipal administrators", the statement also states.

Remember that, last year, the head of state raised the possibility of inviting his Portuguese counterpart to the celebrations of Angola's 50th anniversary of independence. "I hadn't thought about it yet, because I think it's serious, there are still two years to go, but in the 50th year I will be very happy to invite the Portuguese head of state", he said at the time.

Remember that national independence was proclaimed on November 11, 1975 by Agostinho Neto, the country's first President.
