PR interferes with the armed forces and police by dismissing and appointing officers

This Thursday, the President of the Republic carried out readjustments in the armed forces and police, through dismissals, appointments, promotions and retirement of officers.

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, João Lourenço dismissed several commission officers from the National Police, general officers and admirals and also commission officers from the Criminal Investigation Service.

"The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, under the terms of the Constitution, supported by the Law on Ranks and Badges of the National Police and the Law on National Defense and the Armed Forces, after hearing the National Security Council, dismissed several officers from their positions commissioners of the National Police, general officers and admirals and commission officers of the Criminal Investigation Service", the note reads.

Still in the same process, the head of State proceeded to appoint commission officers of the National Police, commission officers of the Criminal Investigation Service and general officers and admirals.

According to a statement, the President also decreed the promotion of commission officers and senior officers of the National Police, as well as "the retirement" of commission officers of the National Police, "among other acts linked to military careers".

"Dozens of personnel from the National Police, the Criminal Investigation Service and the Angolan Armed Forces were moved, with their names and corresponding actions transcribed in the Official Gazette", the note also reads.
