Axi Lwanda: the first Angolan premium gin is well and recommended

It’s called Axi Lwanda and emerged as an Angolan ‘premium gin’. Created by entrepreneur Bruno Bastos de Pina, it has represented an opportunity to produce superior quality alcoholic beverages in Angola, promoting the consumption of the best made in the country.

Married and father of three children, Bruno has a degree in Tourism and divides his projects between Luanda and the City of Praia. His portfolio includes businesses – of a family nature – such as Quintal da Tia Guida 1 & 2.

Already with experience in the drinks sector, and with international partnerships, he is the promoter of the Gin Kianda project, the first gin produced in Angola. Now, he is one of the names behind Axi Lwanda gin.

"If we consider the South African market as a reference, there are hundreds of local brands. The Angolan market is very focused on importing alcoholic beverages, the challenge is to change that", says the entrepreneur, speaking to the online magazine Bantumen.

Axi Lwanda has been produced for three years in a distillery located on Cape Island, investing in a "strong local identity" and seeking to represent the tradition, culture and identity of the fisherman native to this island. It promises an attractive, balanced and differentiated flavor.

It is now possible to purchase a bottle of Axi Lwanda in the Angolan capital, but also in Portugal and Germany. The entrepreneur's plans for the future involve making him the predominant choice whenever someone orders a gin in the country.
