'Citadel of Successful Young People' inaugurated, promoting access to professional training in Bailundo

This Thursday, in the municipality of Bailundo, the Citadel of Successful Young People for Education and Vocational Training was inaugurated, which aims to encourage access to professional training for young people at risk in rural areas.


"Promoting greater access to professional training for young people at risk in rural areas is the aim of the Citadel of Successful Young People for Education and Vocational Training", which was inaugurated this Thursday, January 19th, in Bailundo, says a statement from Focus Education sent to VerAngola.

According to the note, the initiative for the project is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, while the implementation of the citadel was carried out by Focus Education – a subsidiary of the Mitrelli Group, which carries out projects in the areas of development, training and employability.

The aforementioned citadel has already welcomed the first young people chosen, "in a total of approximately 160 students, 50 of whom are boarding students and the rest are external students", adds the note.

"Implemented by Focus Education, each citadel has an average capacity for 240 students and offers a three-year multidisciplinary training, including specialized vocational studies in Agriculture and Livestock, Electricity, IT, Locksmithing and Carpentry, among other professional areas, as well as conditions of full internship in a domestic and welcoming environment that ensures conditions and social skills vital for the growth of young people", reads the statement.

Within the scope of this project, Focus Education has already delivered four Citadels for Successful Young People, which are fully operational in the provinces of Uíge, Cabinda, Malanje and Huíla, along with the one inaugurated this Thursday in Huambo, "with another being prepared and launched" in Cuanza Norte.

The communiqué also mentions that the Citadels for Successful Young People project is part of the Government Action Plan to promote "employability and the improvement of technical and professional education, as a mechanism to combat poverty and social exclusion with a view to providing the conditions necessary for their sustenance and to guarantee a better life".

Focus Education also mentions that, "facing education and professional training as" key elements to encourage and sustain "economic growth, social and personal development, it implements structures that prepare people to achieve their objectives, while updating the of work and inject financial energy into the business sphere".
