Angola debuts with a draw at CHAN 2023

The 'Palancas Negras' drew, this Monday, to three balls against Mali, in the opening game of group D of CHAN 2023.

The national team started strong in the first half of the match, having opened the scoring in the 12th minute, with a goal by Depú.

However, the 'Palancas Negras' saw the tie reach the 23rd minute, with Hamidou Sinayoko equalizing the score (1-1).

Three minutes later, in the 26th minute, Depú scored twice and the national team managed to return to the advantage, with the score going to the break at 2-1.

Already in the second half of the game, Angola increased the advantage in the 72nd minute, with a third goal. Winning with two goals difference, the national team did not count on the history of CAN 2010 to be repeated again, when at the time Mali was losing 4-0 until the 78th minute and managed to tie the match.

However, the same thing happened this Monday and the selection of Mali, which was losing in the 77th minute, turned around and equalized the game by three balls (3-3), in just five minutes: in the 78th and 83rd minutes, Yaro Mamadou Diaby and Ousmane Coulibaly, respectively, thrashed in favor of Mali.

Regarding Monday's match, the coach of the national team, Pedro Gonçalves, considered the result as unfair, taking into account the team's performance, especially in the first half, adding that now it remains to correct the mistakes, given the game on January 20 against Mauritania, writes Angop.

Remember that CHAN 2023 takes place in Algeria until the 4th of February.
