Jorge Figueiredo will step down as Cape Verde's ambassador to Angola

The former mayor of the island of Sal, Jorge Figueiredo, will leave his post as ambassador of Cape Verde in Angola at the end of this month, according to a decree published this Thursday.

:

"The ordinary service commission of Jorge Eduardo St'Aubyn de Figueiredo, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cape Verde to the Republic of Angola, with effect from the 28th of February 2023", reads the presidential decree published in the Official Gazette of the archipelago.

Jorge Figueiredo was appointed Cape Verde's ambassador to Angola in May 2007, when the Cape Verdean Minister of Foreign Affairs was Luís Filipe Tavares.

The former mayor of Sal, between 2004 and 2016, replaced Ambassador Francisco Veiga at the time, and later went on to accumulate the functions of ambassador in Namibia and Mozambique.
