Téte António said he was "aware of the numerous problems" that have caused "deep dissatisfaction" among employees, mainly with regard to mobility and promotions in the special career.

Based on the conclusions presented by the commission created for this purpose, he stressed, the Government will "overcome this impasse very soon in a gradual, comprehensive and inclusive way".

The official, who was speaking today on the occasion of the New Year's greetings ceremony, also said he believed that the new organic status of the ministerial body should provide "more clues for the harmonization and regularization of the collective administrative situation".

"Very concretely, the direction of the ministry will work within the best time frame in the regularization and normalization of the rotation process, in the implementation of the Training Plan, in the implementation of health insurance for employees and their dependents", he stressed.

The reopening of the cafeteria for all employees, extension of the supermarket network for shopping cards and improving employee attendance are also part of the actions to be developed.

The aforementioned themes, which aim to improve the social and working conditions of employees of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "will be addressed in an extended consultation in the first quarter of this year".

Ambassador Téte António praised the newly appointed Secretary of State for Administration, Finance and Heritage, believing in her work for the "substantial improvement of working conditions, both the administrative and financial situation of employees".

Regarding the actions carried out in 2022, the Angolan minister highlighted the presence of international observers in the August elections, who "unanimously praised the organizational conditions made available by the competent authorities".

He noted that international observers also praised the "maturity and patriotic sense" demonstrated by the national political class as a whole throughout the electoral process.

"These positive indicators undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the position of the Republic of Angola in the international context", he noted, referring that 2022 was also marked by "intense" diplomatic activity at the bilateral and multilateral levels.

According to Téte António, the diplomatic actions were led by the Angolan President, João Lourenço, an exercise that "has contributed not only to consolidating Angola's role as an unavoidable player in Africa, but also to opening up new horizons of cooperation".

"We would like to remind you that at continental level, at the proposal of the Republic of Angola, the African Union held, last May, the 16th Extraordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government dedicated to Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes of Regime in Africa" , noticed.

Based on Angola's "experience" in "peace and security matters" and as president of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, the summit "decided to entrust the Angolan President with the mission of mediating the situation of political tension existing between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Rwanda," he recalled.

The head of Angolan diplomacy, in his speech, also said that Angola, in 2022, "took the opportunity to reaffirm, in one of the most important international tribunes, the commitment to the cause of climate change".

Last December, Angola assumed the rotating presidency of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP), for a period of three years, after holding the organization's 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government in Luanda.

Téte highlighted the moment considering that the Angolan presidency of the OEACP will contribute to "greater visibility and elevation of the country at world level, due to the fact that it is an important platform bringing together 79 countries from three different continents", concluded the Angolan official.
