According to a brief note from the municipal administration of Cacolo, to which VerAngola had access, the administrator of the municipality, in the fulfillment of a vast schedule of visits, verified the cultivation of rice in the locality of Zovo.

According to the statement, the results "have been satisfactory", and they are waiting for "the harvest of the 12 cultivated hectares, which could benefit about 100 families".

Another note states that the administrator went to the agricultural field in Alto Cavemba. Here, it was possible to verify that "cultivation works are taking place at a good pace, thus, more than three hectares are already cultivated with corn and beans", and "the perspective is to reach 12 hectares by the first half of 2023".

According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), a cooperative and a peasant association are involved in the large-scale production of these agricultural products. According to the official, quoted by RNA, there is a 12-hectare field belonging to the cooperative, whose 50 families are involved in the cultivation of beans and corn, while, on the other side, there is an association that has 100 families in the cultivation of rice in a field also of 12 hectares.

"The field in the Cavemba area was sown with beans and maize and at the same time" that in another field "an experiment is being carried out in rice sowing", he said, quoted by RNA.

"That's why we see on the ground how the seeds sown in that land are germinating. From what we see the result is satisfactory, it's positive, we'll wait until harvest time arrives", he added, quoted by RNA.

This Thursday, January 5th, José Salvador Chicanji continued his field work, visiting the Muocono Farm, dedicated to the cultivation of banana trees 'banana bread'.

According to the municipal administration, in a note to which VerAngola had access, "the visit served to encourage local farmers to consider the executive's bet on the diversification of the economy, in order to continue with the production of bananas, cultivation of corn, beans, rice, among others".
