Government plans to withdraw more than 20 assets from the privatization program

Ottoniel dos Santos, Secretary of State for Finance and Treasury, informed that the National Interministerial Commission of the State Assets Privatization Program plans to remove a total of 25 assets from the privatization program (Propriv).

According to the official, in question are companies that have a lack of attractiveness, in the sense of being alienated. This is because it is defended that some remain in the sphere of the State while others are suggested to be liquidated and not exactly privatized, taking into account the diagnoses made to their conjuncture, writes Angop.

According to Angop, this proposal, which was appreciated on Monday in a meeting chaired by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, will, in the coming days, be sent to a higher level for appreciation and approval.

The Secretary of State, cited by Angop, also took the opportunity to indicate that the extension of the privatization program for five years will be carried out, based on the fact that there are still processes to be finalized as well as other pending assets that will manage to be solved and enter the procedure of privatization.

Ottoniel dos Santos also said that since 2019, the government has already allocated 567 billion kwanzas with the privatization of 96 assets.
