Eugénio de Andrade is the writer of the month at Centro Camões in Luanda

Camões – Portuguese Cultural Center in Luanda – elected the Portuguese Eugénio de Andrade as the writer of the month for January and will present his work on Tuesday, as part of the centenary of his birth, it was announced this Thursday.


The institution mentions, in a statement, that the heading "writer of the month" is intended to promote literary authors who write in Portuguese and that the session on Tuesday, January 31, counts on the production of the creative agency Art Sem Letter.

The meeting in honor of Eugénio de Andrade, pseudonym of José Fontinhas, who was born on January 19, 1923, in Fundão, will have the special participation of the Camilo Castelo Branco School and Portuguese language teacher Carla Figueiras.

The session in honor of Eugénio Andrade, winner of the 2001 Camões Prize and author of the works "As Mãos e os Frutos" and "Amantes sem Dinheiro", will be free and open to the general public at the Pepetela auditorium, in Luanda.
