"There is therefore an intention to connect Angola to Zambia through the Lobito Corridor", informed the official, speaking to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
Fernando Manuel explained that the aforementioned corridor is around 1330 kilometers long, with the need to build around 800 kilometres, and added that around 600 kilometers are currently contracted.
"This corridor is about 1330 kilometers long and we need to build approximately 800 kilometers (...). The Angolan authorities, realizing the advantages that this corridor presents from an economic and social point of view, have already contracted about 600 kilometers, that is, at this very moment just over 600 kilometers have already been contracted and are ready to start", he said, quoted by RNA.
The person in charge also made it known that, at the moment, they are concluding the procedural conditions and, as soon as they are concluded, the financing takes effect and the works begin.
