According to a statement made available on the website of the Angolan embassy in Zambia, Azevedo Francisco, the Angolan ambassador to Zambia, "was the first to exercise his civic duty".

On the occasion, Azevedo Francisco took the opportunity to appeal to the resident community to "massively adhere to the process, as a prerequisite for the exercise of the vote, in the general elections, scheduled for August of the current year".

He also informed that in addition to the consular services of the Angolan embassy in Lusaka, Zambia has two more registration posts: the general consulates of Mongu and Solwezi.

The communiqué also mentions that "members of the Angolan community in the lands of Kaunda, expressed their expectation to exercise their right to vote, from the diaspora, a fact that will give greater representation to the democratic process underway in Angola".

The leaders of the communities, heard on the occasion, took the opportunity to underline their appeal "in the sense of also enabling access to registration for thousands of compatriots residing in remote and difficult-to-reach locations".

In addition, they also recalled the "need for an intervention by the Angolan State, embodied in the transport of thousands of Angolans, residing in these areas, to the registration sites, thus ensuring the success of the process in Zambian lands".
