More than half of the people in Luanda consider that PR and Minsa had a good response to the pandemic, indicates a study

More than half of the people of Luand (59 percent) considered that the President of the Republic acted "well" or "very well" in the way he responded to the pandemic. The conclusion is from a study carried out by Marktest Angola, which aimed to analyze how some institutions acted in 2020 in relation to covid-19.

According to the survey, about 10 percent of respondents admitted that João Lourenço acted "very well" in the face of the pandemic and 48.9 percent indicated that the posture of the head of state was "good". Already 11.4 percent of Angolans admitted that the President was "bad" and 2.9 percent considered that João Lourenço was "very bad" in response to the pandemic.

"As for the Ministry of Health's actions, the majority of the people in Luanda also considered it to have done well or very well (58.7 percent)," revealed Markteste Angola, in a statement sent to VerAngola.

About seven percent of the respondents indicated that the Ministry of Health had a "very good" response to the pandemic, while more than half (51.4 percent) admitted that the ministry's posture was "good". However, 10.7 percent indicated that the Ministry of Health's action was "bad" and 4.2 percent of the Lithuanians admitted that the posture was "very bad".

Also, half of the respondents (52.1%) indicated that the performance of the Public Security Forces was "good" or "very good". According to the survey, 4.1 percent considered that the security authorities were "very good" while 48 percent said they were "very good". On the other hand, 10.7 percent considered the security forces' response to covid-19 to be "bad" and 4.2 percent "very bad.

"It should be noted that in these three entities analyzed, between 20 percent and 22 percent of those interviewed said that there were decisions well taken and others badly taken, and therefore responded "neither well" "nor badly".

As for the information disclosed about the pandemic during the past year, about 43 percent of the interviewees considered that they were credible or very credible.

"For the interviewees, their favourite TV channel to keep informed (news and other current affairs information) is TV Zimbo with 52 percent, followed by TPA1 with 23 percent" and Euronews with seven percent, indicates the study.

The reasons for preference varied depending on the channel. The survey revealed that TV Zimbo was indicated by 47 percent of respondents as being credible. Already 14 per cent preferred TV Zimbo because it showed the reality of the country.

As for TPA1, 20 percent considered that the channel showed the reality and daily life of the country while 15 percent preferred this channel for considering it credible and true.

As for Euronews, 43 per cent of respondents said they preferred this channel for its credibility.

The survey was conducted in Luanda. A total of 501 interviews were conducted with people aged 15 and over between 5 and 11 January 2021.
