Covid-19: country announces 27 more cases and 214 recovered patients

The country has detected 27 more cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours and considered 214 patients as recovered, informed the Secretary of State for Public Health.

According to Franco Mufinda, the new cases were registered in Cabinda (13), Huambo (6), Luanda (5), Zaire (2) and Benguela (1), with ages from 14 to 88, of which 22 were male and five female.

A total of 214 people were recovered, aged 4 to 71 years.

In this period, 1520 samples were processed, with the cumulative number pointing to 354,611 analyses to date.

This brings the total number of cases to 19,580, of which 1516 are being treated, including three in critical condition and nine severe, with 17,602 recovered and 462 dead.

At the entry and exit points of Luanda, which is under sanitary fence, 918 people were tested, one of which with a positive result.

In terms of post-departure testing, since January 16, 7444 passengers were tested, of which 18 are positive cases, coming from South Africa (1), Germany (2), Brazil (2), Dubai (4), France (2) and Portugal (7), with the following nationalities: Angolan (9), Brazilian (3), Nigerian (2), French (1), South African (1), British (1) and Israeli (1).

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,159,155 deaths from more than 100 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
