Ilda Henriqueta da Silva is the first Angolan to be vaccinated against covid-19 in Brazil. The Angolan said she is "very happy and hopeful" that the vaccine will reach the whole world and encouraged Angolans not to lose hope because better days will come.

"I'm very happy and hopeful that the vaccine will arrive for everybody, unfortunately, in this first phase, only the people who are in the front line and elderly will be able to get the vaccine, but it's already a good start. The virus has already claimed many lives, but of course we can't lose hope that better days will come," the Angolan said in a statement to the Platinaline.

Ilda Henriqueta da Silva revealed that she hasn't suffered any side effect from the vaccine yet: "I didn't have any side effect or problem with the ingestion of the vaccine, I didn't feel anything different, I was given the first dose and I will take another dose in February".

He also said he was confident that all the work and effort put into fighting the pandemic "will be satisfactory".

"I want to impel the Angolan people to believe in better days and to take into account the work that has been done by all the professionals dedicated to a solution to fight this problem, we will have better days, we will have faith and we will help each one, in a correct way, with solidarity and responsibility", he completed.

Ilda left Angola in 2014 to study in Brazil, having graduated in Human Resources. She has a post-graduate degree in Organizational Psychology and has been working in the Health sector in Brazil for four years.
