Angola Telecom breakdown interrupts internet and international voice services

A breakdown in a submarine cable between Libreville, in Gabon, and Cacuaco, in Angola, caused the interruption of the supply of internet and international voice services by Angola Telecom, the company said this Thursday.

:

The interruption of these services, which has occurred since the early hours of today, is due to a breakdown in the submarine cable designated as SAT-3.

"Angola Telecom and the SAT-3 submarine cable consortium are working to recover the damaged section between Libreville and Cacuaco," the statement said, without detailing how many customers were affected or when the service will be restored.

Angola Telecom is Angola's public telecommunications and multimedia company and was founded in 1992.
