The 26-year-old Angolan won the Rizin 20 fight in the second round by technical KO. Had passed only 38 seconds since the start of the round, when Manel Kapé left his opponent lying on the ground. After applying several strikes to the Japanese athlete, the arbiter was forced to interrupt the fight and Kapé secured the victory.

The victory of the Angolan athlete surprised everything and everyone, since the japanese Asakura was considered as favourite to the title. Asakura entered the ring with a history of six consecutive wins. Moreover, the fact that he had already beaten Manel Kapé in 2018 also put him as the favourite to win.

The fight took place in Saitama, Japan.
