"Many media outlets around the world have published in recent days important information about the family fortune of the former President of José Eduardo dos Santos. The source of 'Luanda Leaks' is the whistleblower Rui Pinto," PPLAAF said in a statement on its website on Monday.
The PPLAAF also said that the data in 'Luanda Leaks' were entrusted to the platform "by the whistleblower Rui Pinto, who wanted to expose illegal activities or activities contrary to the public interest.
This note from PPLAAF comes after Rui Pinto's lawyers revealed that his client delivered to the platform in 2018 a hard drive containing data related to the recent revelations about Isabel dos Santos' fortune.
Rui Pinto, the creator of Football Leaks, a platform where a number of secret documents concerning transfers and players' contracts have been published, will answer in Portugal on trial in this case for 90 crimes, of illegitimate access, undue access, violation of correspondence, computer sabotage and attempted extortion, and has been in custody since March last year.
