Isabel dos Santos allegedly hired lobby company linked to Trump to "control" Luanda Leaks

According to a document to which Quartz had access, Isabel dos Santos will have appealed to the Sonoran Policy Group on 13 December 2019. The contact was made one day after the consortium first informed her of the investigations into the 'Luanda Leaks' case.

Upon learning that her empire was being investigated, the businesswoman reportedly turned to the US company, signing two contracts worth two million dollars. Despite the "vague" wording of the documents, it is known that this would include scheduling periodic meetings in the US, as well as "advice and media placements".

In one of the contracts, made available by Quartz, the name of Isabel dos Santos does not appear, but rather the signature of Mário Leite da Silva - former BFA's PCA - considered to be the businesswoman's right-hand man, and of Robert Stryk, unofficial adviser to Donald Trump's election campaign.

The same document states that the American company was hired by the Terra Peregrin company, which has its headquarters in Lisbon. This company, which the 'Luanda Leaks' case associates with Wise Intelligence Solutions - the company of Isabel dos Santos in Malta.

According to the OpenSecrets website, since 2017, the Sonoran Policy Group has received around 10 million dollars in services provided to foreign governments alone, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
