Total and Sonangol agreed the management of 45 gas stations

French oil company Total and the angolan oil company Sonangol have agreed a joint fuel marketing project that involves managing a network of 45 European-branded filling stations.

According to a press release, sent to Lusa on Monday, as part of the new phase started on 21 December 2018, the approval, required by the competition authorities, for the incorporation of the joint company Total Marketing & Services Angola SA, held in equal interests by Sonangol and Total groups.

Both companies, under the agreement, will, through the joint company, develop oil distribution activities in Angola. The first phase includes the distribution of fuel and the sale of lubricants to private companies.

"Sonangol provides to the joint company 45 existing gas stations located in urban areas along the main roads in 10 coastal provinces and the center of the country", reveals in the press release.

The statement also adds that Total contributes the necessary financial resources to meet its partners objectives: "to double the number of filling stations within five years and to develop business-oriented activities and the sale of lubricants ".

The first Total branded filling station was opened in Luanda in December 2018.
