Admission to the hearing is free, but subject to a capacity of 180 seats, mandatory registration until 10 January, at 15h00, through the official Facebook page Shortcutz Luanda, says a statement sent to VerAngola.
Selected by the Shortcutz judging team, seven action, documentary and animated films are nominated for this year's awards: Accident (by David Cochoret); Daydreaming (by Yim Brakel); Crow's Nest (by Flynn Von Kleist); Fundament (by Wilbert Van Veldhuizen), School's Out (by Jamille van Wijngarden), Nobu (Sarah Blok and Lisa Konno) and At first sight (Sjaak Rood).
Global voting began on 4 December 2019 and will run until 15 January. After voting has been completed in all participating cities, the big winner of this seventh annual Shortcutz Prize will be announced on 19 January in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Luanda thus becomes the first African city to join this prestigious urban and international short film movement, which has become one of the largest networking platforms in the world, prioritizing diversity and inclusion among filmmakers, national film production and the free movement of films and ideas.
Shortcutz Amsterdam is one of the premier showcases for emerging Dutch film talent. It has served to showcase their work as well as involve them before a national and international audience, as well as connecting them with established professionals in the sector.
