In statements as part of the year-end greeting ceremony, the governor of the province of Cabinda, Suzana Abreu, spoke about the catamaran operations on the route that covers the province she directs.
Thus, cited in a statement from the provincial government of Cabinda, to which VerAngola had access, Suzana Abreu took the opportunity to announce that the "Executive has reinforced the fleet of the company Secil Marítima with the delivery of a ship with a capacity of 540 tons that already operates the route Soyo-Cabinda and vice versa, transporting heavy cargo".
Still in the field of maritime connections, the provincial governor also said that Secil Marítima "will receive again within days a ship named 'Cabinda' that will transport mixed cargo on the Soyo-Cabinda-Soyo route".
"Suzana Abreu also announced that Secil Marítima catamarans operating on the Soyo-Cabinda-Soyo route will now operate every day, except Sundays", the statement reads.
These measures, says the document, aim to "address the negative impacts of the closure of the informal river station of Kimbumba in Soyo, a location considered fertile for the smuggling of fuel and food destined for the province of Cabinda".
On the occasion, the governor also pointed out "that the soon completion of the works on the Port of Águas Profundas do Caio and the Cabinda Refinery will allow the emergence of more jobs and dynamism in the province's economy".
Suzana Abreu left the guarantee that the Government will continue with the implementation of social infrastructures in Cabinda, which aim to improve the population's living conditions.
In her message, she also highlighted the "ongoing projects in the province of Cabinda, with greater emphasis on the education, agriculture, health and integrated infrastructure sectors, which cover water supply, maintenance and conservation of the macro-drainage system, electrification and construction and rehabilitation of communication routes", having also considered "agriculture as a fundamental pillar of the province's economy".
Last Friday, the governor received end-of-year greetings from several individuals, with those present at the event highlighting the "achievements already implemented by the provincial governor after around 155 days since her appointment by the President of the Republic João Lourenço".
"For members of civil society, provincial governor Suzana Abreu has visibly demonstrated that she is a public servant capable of improving the social situation of the province of Cabinda", having, for this reason, guaranteed "to work side by side with the governor in identifying and resolution of the main problems that still afflict the populations of Cabinda", points out the statement.
