Thus, since this Monday, children in that hospital located in Luanda have had a room with several toys. In addition to this room, according to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), Ana Dias Lourenço also offered gifts to the children, who were grateful for this attitude.
On the occasion, Ana Dias Lourenço revealed that the initiative to equip reference hospitals with rooms of this type is to continue, whose action is not limited to Luanda alone.
"We have already done ten, seven in Luanda and three in other provinces", she said.
"In Luanda we have a toy library at the General Hospital of Luanda, which was the first to have one, we have it at the Hospital Complex for Cardiopulmonary Diseases Cardeal Dom Alexandre de Nascimento, we have it at the General Hospital of Viana Bispo Emílio de Carvalho, at the Municipal Hospital of Viana do Capalanga, at the General Hospital of Cacuaco Heróis do Kifangondo, at the Instituto Hematológico Pediátrico Doutora Vitória do Espírito Santo, now at the Azancot de Menezes Maternal and Child Hospital", she revealed.
The first lady, cited by RNA, also revealed that the initiative also reached three other provinces: "The province of Cunene, at the General Hospital of Cunene General Simione Mucune; in the province of Cuanza Sul, the General Hospital of Cuanza Sul Comandante Raúl Diaz Arguelles; and in the province of Cuanza Norte, at the General Hospital of Cuanza Norte Mário Pinto de Andrade", she said.
In turn, the general director of the Azancot de Menezes Maternal and Child Hospital, Maria Manuela Mendes, said that the pediatrics department at that hospital unit has 200 children admitted. "In pediatrics alone, which is the key area of the visit, we have 200 patients hospitalized. The main pathology among our children is malaria and respiratory diseases, but we have other types of more complex pathologies, lately trauma has also occurred a lot here at our institution", pointed out the person responsible, who, quoted by RNA, say that they carry out "an average of 70 births/day".
