PR: “Let’s work to make 2025 better for all of us”

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, left the guarantee that he will work to make next year better than the year that “is about to end”.

"We will work so that 2025 is better for all of us, for our country, Angola, than the year that is about to end", assured the head of state, during the year-end greeting ceremony for himself and the first lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, held last Friday, at the Presidential Palace.

On the occasion, according to a statement from CIPRA read by VerAngola, João Lourenço thanked Esperança da Costa, Vice-President of the Republics for the "words of appreciation, encouragement, and wishes addressed to him".

In turn, Esperança da Costa highlighted the "structural measures taken by the head of state for the diversification of the economy and moralization of society".

In her speech, the vice-president of the Republic said that the president of the Republic "continued to prioritize good governance, rigor and transparency in public acts, the fight against corruption and impunity, in addition to adopting measures aimed at diversifying the economy, moralize society, strengthen diplomacy", as well as project a new image of the country in the world.

"History has placed in your hands the responsibility of inaugurating a new cycle of our collective life, which begins with the celebration of 50 years of our existence as an independent nation", she said, quoted in the statement.

The ruler wished the head of state and his family happy holidays and a "resplendent new year, which brings abundant health, peace, success, much love, harmony and much prosperity".

In addition to Esperança da Costa, the President also received year-end greetings from several other individuals from all strata of society, such as Carolina Cerqueira, president of the National Assembly, the presidents of the Supreme, Constitutional and Audit courts, Joel Leonardo, Laurinda Cardoso and Sebastião Gunza, respectively, by Hélder Pitta Grós, Attorney General of Justice, among others.

According to CIPRA, among the individuals who attended the ceremony were "holders of sovereign bodies, diplomats, members of the government, representatives of civil society, religious and political party leaders, among other individuals".

"Those present toasted with the Presidential Couple and the musicians Yola Semedo, Euclides da Lomba, Gabriel Tchiema, Miguel Buila, Dom Caetano, Mago de Sousa brightened the moment", the note reads.

After the greeting ceremony for the presidential couple, the gardens of the Presidential Palace hosted a gala dinner.
