Angolan giraffe born at Portugal zoo

The Lisbon Zoo, in Portugal, has a new 'tenant': an Angolan giraffe. This species of giraffe, named because most of its habitat coincides with what is now the territory of Angola, was born in the Portuguese zoo and is 1.90 meters tall.

This animal is yet another reason for visitors to stop by the zoo, which will begin with activities related to the Christmas season next Saturday, the day Santa Claus arrives at the zoo.

"This cub gives all visitors great reasons to visit, which will be even more special with the Christmas agenda that the Zoo has prepared for the whole family," the organization said in a statement.

This species of giraffe is the tallest animal in the world, with its neck alone reaching two meters. In terms of size, this species can be between 3.8 and 4.7 meters long and 4.5 and five meters tall.

You can find out more about this species and even sponsor an Angolan giraffe on the Lisbon zoo website.
