According to a statement from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, to which VerAngola had access, this is the supermarket chain's 22nd store.
The inauguration of the new supermarket took place this Wednesday, in a ceremony that included the testimony of the Secretary of State for Commerce, Amadeus Leitão Nunes, as well as the vice-governor for the Economic Sector, Jorge Miguês de Almeida, who were accompanied by "distinct figures from the local government apparatus".
"Noble Group opened this Wednesday, December 13th, the 22nd store of the AngoMart supermarket chain, on Avenida 21 de Janeiro, Rocha Pinto neighborhood, ensuring with this new distribution point for basic food products more than 80 new direct and indirect jobs, bringing more proximity, variety of products and quality of service", reads the statement.
The new supermarket is more than 1500 square meters.
According to the statement, Noble Group "is one of the largest importers" in the country, employing more than 20,000 people and whose "network has more than 94 wholesale points of sale, central warehouses, cash and carry and distribution vans".
"The group intends to invest increasingly in 'made in Angola' production, with 80 percent of what is sold at AngoMart originating from national agriculture, now appearing with new bakery services at each product distribution point", reads is still in the statement.
