More than 10,000 tourists expected on New Year's Eve in Mussulo and Barra do Cuanza

Mussulo and Barra do Cuanza are usually the stage for New Year's Eve festivities, and forecasts for this year's festivities point to the reception of more than 10,000 tourists, both national and foreign.

The security conditions for celebrations in those areas have been created. The guarantee is from Adão Cassongo, delegate of the Captaincy of the Port of Luanda in the region, who, speaking to Angop, clarified that the conditions for a safe transition of tourists have been established.

He also referred to Thursday, Friday and Saturday as the days when tourists will start to arrive in large numbers for New Year's Eve, considered as the busiest time, since it requires more caution in the inspection of the passage of vessels.

According to the rules, vessels are subject to daily inspection, and must have a minimum of seven meters in length, life jackets, oars, crew with a navigation license or certificates, as well as the number of people on board also cannot be exceeded, writes to Angop.

Regarding the rules of the maritime administration, the vessels circulate between 05:30 am and 6:45 pm, according to the official, cited by Angop.

Highly sought after at this time of year, these areas – where end-of-year festivities take place in private homes, clubs and resorts – did not receive tourists last year due to the state of calamity that prevailed because of the pandemic. It should also be noted that Mussulo (commune in the municipality of Talatona) and Barra do Cuanza (commune in the municipality of Belas) are highly appreciated by tourists because of their beaches, food and catering services.

In terms of prices, according to a survey carried out by Angop, 55,000 kwanzas are charged for a simple daily rate, at a resort with breakfast, while the double price includes three meals a day. In turn, around 70,000 kwanzas are charged for a boat trip of up to three miles, between 7 am and 3 pm, on a six-seat boat.

According to Angop, considering the demand for maritime services in those areas at this time of the year, Secil Marítima provided a catamaran with more than 300 seats that is making nine daily trips.
